In this week’s episode of the Beyond Beauty Podcast by dillie, Kat Burki discusses what’s known as the gut-skin axis, the powerful relationship between digestive health and the appearance and condition of skin. A well-balanced gut microbiome helps maintains a healthy skin barrier. Meanwhile, gut health that’s compromised by issues like poor digestion, leaky gut, or dysbiosis (an imbalance of gut bacteria) can contribute to skin concerns like acne, eczema, rosacea, or dullness.
In essence, Kat highlights an important reminder ✨ glowing skin starts from within.

Great skin is possible later in life
Mass marketing has told women that our looks will fade after our 20s and presented pricey products as the only solution to delaying the inevitable and looking passable. This is false! Better skin is possible later in life.
As we age, our skin naturally becomes thinner, drier, and less elastic. However, skin cells are constantly renewing. By doing the following, you allow your skin to optimally do it’s job: strengthen and repair the skin.
Adopting a consistent skincare routine
Eating a nutrient-rich diet
Staying hydrated
Protecting against sun damage
Prioritizing sleep
Managing stress
Avoiding smoking and excessive alcohol
Aging is inevitable, but healthy, radiant skin at any age is achievable. Kat explains her philosophy on skin longevity in the clip below.
